Let's build a playground together in Manukau
A community-led a playground at the old Union bus depot that will serve 416 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Union bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,750.
It will serve about 416 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.

• Materials: $1,000
• Permits and inspections: $230
• Safety equipment and signage: $310
• Tools hire and delivery: $210
