Let's build a playground together in Madina
Volunteers in Madina are raising $500 for a playground at the Liberty vacant lot.
🇬🇭 GM-414-4361, Madina, Greater Accra, Ghana1,532 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 488 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $20
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Materials: $435
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Wishing you the best. More neighborhoods should do this. We're a small family in Mar del Plata but we're thinking of you
Hang in there. Looking forward to the next update. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Madina.
Hang in there. I hope things turn around soon. Love from Leeds
Keep going, Samuel. Great idea, hope you get there. Take care.
