Let's build a playground together in Kilkenny

Volunteers in Kilkenny are raising $1,700 for a playground at the Acacia community hall.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia community hall, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $1,700. It will serve about 198 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $1,700 goes: • Materials: $920 • Permits and inspections: $185 • Safety equipment and signage: $260 • Tools hire and delivery: $335 I hope life is good to you.
