Let's build a playground together in Houston
A community-led a playground at the Liberty vacant lot that will serve 189 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,100.
It will serve about 189 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,100 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $340
• Materials: $1,200
• Tools hire and delivery: $560
Thanks for being kind about this.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for William.
Permits and inspections is $340 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Good question.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Latina
Thinking of you and your family. Shared this with my family. My neighbor in Ribeirão Preto donated after I showed her your page.
Rooting for you, William. Great idea, hope you get there.
