A community-led a playground at the old Lotus bus depot that will serve 102 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Lotus bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $145, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 102 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $400 goes:
• Materials: $260
• Permits and inspections: $20
• Safety equipment and signage: $65
• Tools hire and delivery: $55
