Let's build a playground together in Berlin

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Unity bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,250. It will serve about 209 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,250 goes: • Materials: $1,300 • Permits and inspections: $380 • Safety equipment and signage: $150 • Tools hire and delivery: $420 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Melanie
