Let's build a playground together in Auckland
Volunteers in Auckland are raising $3,500 for a playground at the Pioneer vacant lot.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $1,150, and the remaining cost is $3,500.
It will serve about 340 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.

• Safety equipment and signage: $160
• Materials: $3,000
• Permits and inspections: $340
