Let's build a playground together in Albany
Volunteers in Albany are raising $1,000 for a playground at the old Liberty bus depot.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Liberty bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,000.
It will serve about 438 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $250
• Permits and inspections: $350
• Tools hire and delivery: $400

Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Thinking of Albany.
More neighborhoods should do this. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Greetings from Galle
