Let's build a free library and reading room together in Istanbul

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $200. It will serve about 572 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $200 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $100 • Tools hire and delivery: $50 • Permits and inspections: $50 Every share and every dollar helps. - Volkan
