Let's build a free library and reading room together in Daegu

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union community hall, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,250. It will serve about 432 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,250 goes: • Materials: $1,850 • Permits and inspections: $145 • Safety equipment and signage: $140 • Tools hire and delivery: $115 I hope life is good to you.
