Let's build a free library and reading room together in Ciudad de México
A community-led a free library and reading room at the old Harmony bus depot that will serve 455 neighbors.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Harmony bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,150.
It will serve about 455 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Materials: $790
• Permits and inspections: $70
• Safety equipment and signage: $125
• Tools hire and delivery: $165
