Let's build a free library and reading room together in Cairo
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a free library and reading room - we need $350 for materials.
🇪🇬 Cairo, Cairo, Egypt583 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 256 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $350 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $55
• Materials: $220
• Safety equipment and signage: $75
Every share and every dollar helps.

Praying for you, Hatem. Great idea, hope you get there. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care
