Let's build a free library and reading room together in Angeles
A community-led a free library and reading room at the Acacia community hall that will serve 436 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $150.
It will serve about 436 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $150 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $30
• Safety equipment and signage: $70
• Tools hire and delivery: $50
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Ronnie.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. permits and inspections comes first ($30) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Appreciate you taking the time.
Praying for you, Ronnie. Great idea, hope you get there. I'm in social work myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Blessings.
