Let's build a covered market stall space together in Tema
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a covered market stall space - we need $300 for materials.
🇬🇭 Greater Accra, Ghana1,697 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 132 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $300 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $30
• Materials: $230
• Permits and inspections: $40
Every share and every dollar helps.
