Let's build a covered market stall space together in Pelotas
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a covered market stall space - we need $900 for materials.
🇧🇷 Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil351 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Sycamore bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $190, and the remaining cost is $900.
It will serve about 452 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $900 goes:
• Materials: $610
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Safety equipment and signage: $100
• Tools hire and delivery: $150
I hope life is good to you.
- Sandra

Sending strength. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. After 14 years in customer support I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Pelotas.
Hope it all works out, Sandra. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you
Thinking of you. Looking forward to the next update. Greetings from Quezon City
