Let's build a covered market stall space together in Lahore
Volunteers in Lahore are raising $500 for a covered market stall space at Acacia Primary School.
🇵🇰 Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan1,963 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 245 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $400
• Permits and inspections: $30
• Safety equipment and signage: $20
• Tools hire and delivery: $50
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Good news. Because of your gifts ($381 in total) the plan for materials is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Quick update: $220 raised so far (44%). we've started the first stage. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
Thank you all. We're at 17% now ($84). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.
