Let's build a covered market stall space together in Islamabad
A community-led a covered market stall space at the Maple vacant lot that will serve 558 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 558 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $450 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Materials: $380
• Tools hire and delivery: $40

Hang in there, Imran. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. After 30 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
