Let's build a covered market stall space together in Hyderabad
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a covered market stall space - we need $500 for materials.
🇮🇳 Hyderabad, Telangana, India529 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $185, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 526 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $370
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Safety equipment and signage: $20
• Tools hire and delivery: $70
With deep gratitude,
Balaji
