For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 345 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $400 goes:
• Materials: $330
• Safety equipment and signage: $55
• Permits and inspections: $15
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
