Let's build a community garden together in Yokohama
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $1,050 for materials.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Park, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $1,000, and the remaining cost is $1,050.
It will serve about 524 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $150
• Materials: $780
• Safety equipment and signage: $120
Thanks for being kind about this.

Gave what I could, wish it was more. Put this on a community board in Winnipeg this morning. Thinking of Yokohama.
