Let's build a community garden together in Siliguri
Volunteers in Siliguri are raising $100 for a community garden at the Unity vacant lot.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $100.
It will serve about 394 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $100 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $20
• Tools hire and delivery: $55
• Safety equipment and signage: $25
Thanks for being kind about this.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Anitha
Sure. The biggest one is permits and inspections, $20. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Appreciate you taking the time.
thanks for sharing this. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Take care
Keep going, Anitha. Shared it with a few friends. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care.
Thinking of you and your family. Great idea, hope you get there. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. All the best
Thinking of you and your family, Anitha. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
Sending good thoughts. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. God bless
