Let's build a community garden together in San Jose
Volunteers in San Jose are raising $3,000 for a community garden at the Harmony community hall.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,000.
It will serve about 537 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,000 goes:
• Materials: $2,250
• Permits and inspections: $160
• Safety equipment and signage: $150
• Tools hire and delivery: $440
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
