Let's build a community garden together in San Francisco
A community-led a community garden at the Lotus health centre yard that will serve 115 neighbors.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $3,050.
It will serve about 115 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,050 goes:
• Materials: $1,900
• Permits and inspections: $270
• Safety equipment and signage: $370
• Tools hire and delivery: $510
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

what exactly is the $3,050 for?
Sure. The biggest one is materials, $1,900. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Thanks for looking so closely.
