Narayanganj

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $150. It will serve about 177 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $150 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $40 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $70 Thank you for reading my story.
