Let's build a community garden together in Leeds
Volunteers in Leeds are raising $2,550 for a community garden at the Union community hall.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $940, and the remaining cost is $2,550.
It will serve about 258 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Materials: $1,800
• Permits and inspections: $230
• Safety equipment and signage: $290
• Tools hire and delivery: $230

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Harper
Sure. The biggest one is materials, $1,800. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.
