Let's build a community garden together in Las Cruces

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Park, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $1,150, and the remaining cost is $900. It will serve about 124 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly.
