Let's build a community garden together in Berlin
A community-led a community garden at the Union vacant lot that will serve 192 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $700.
It will serve about 192 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.

• Permits and inspections: $340
• Safety equipment and signage: $175
• Tools hire and delivery: $185
