Let's build a community garden together in Albany
A community-led a community garden at Unity Park that will serve 191 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Park, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $820, and the remaining cost is $2,950.
It will serve about 191 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.

• Materials: $2,625
