Abbottabad
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 246 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $400 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $45 • Tools hire and delivery: $30 • Materials: $325 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Updates from Waqas

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 8% funded and the plan for tools hire and delivery is now scheduled.

  2. Update from Abbottabad: the first invoice got paid this week. We're at 33% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  • Stay strong, Waqas. Gave what I could, wish it was more.

    • Praying for you. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out

      • Wishing you the best, Waqas. It takes guts to ask. Well done. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Seoul
