Let's build a community fridge together in Thika
A community-led a community fridge at the old Union bus depot that will serve 144 neighbors.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Union bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 144 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.

• Permits and inspections: $45
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $65
