Let's build a community fridge together in Thane

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 522 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $550 goes: • Materials: $430 • Permits and inspections: $20 • Safety equipment and signage: $55 • Tools hire and delivery: $45 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
