For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $3,550. It will serve about 457 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $3,550 goes: • Materials: $2,650 • Permits and inspections: $260 • Safety equipment and signage: $390 • Tools hire and delivery: $250 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Eugene
