Let's build a community fridge together in Mumbai

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Jacaranda bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $300. It will serve about 433 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $300 goes: • Materials: $125 • Permits and inspections: $50 • Safety equipment and signage: $65 • Tools hire and delivery: $60 If you're reading this, thank you.
