Let's build a community fridge together in Miami
A community-led a community fridge at the Union community hall that will serve 116 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $3,700.
It will serve about 116 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Ting.
Sure. The biggest one is materials, $2,700. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Ask me anything else.
