For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $700. It will serve about 184 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $700 goes: • Materials: $440 • Permits and inspections: $105 • Safety equipment and signage: $60 • Tools hire and delivery: $95 I hope life is good to you. - Fernando

more neighborhoods should do this. I have a 15 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Greetings from Limoges.

    • wishing you the best, Fernando. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Love from Seattle.

      • stay strong. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Jacksonville

        • Shared it with a few friends. After 9 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything!

          • Hope things get better soon. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Sent it to 7 people at work. God bless.
