Let's build a community fridge together in Manchester
A community-led a community fridge at the Unity vacant lot that will serve 274 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,950.
It will serve about 274 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,950 goes:
• Materials: $1,350
• Permits and inspections: $230
• Safety equipment and signage: $370
