Let's build a community fridge together in Kyiv
Volunteers in Kyiv are raising $550 for a community fridge at Liberty Park.
🇺🇦 Kyiv, Ukraine1,078 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Park, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 575 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $550 goes:
• Materials: $270
• Permits and inspections: $70
• Safety equipment and signage: $100
• Tools hire and delivery: $110
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

is there anything that isn't money that would help Gleb?
Take care, Gleb. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
Keep going. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out.
