Let's build a community fridge together in Houston
Volunteers in Houston are raising $1,000 for a community fridge at Baobab Park.
🇺🇸 Houston, Texas, United States918 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Park, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,000.
It will serve about 544 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $390
• Tools hire and delivery: $380
• Permits and inspections: $230
I hope life is good to you.

Thinking of you. Hope you get there. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Take care.
