For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $300. It will serve about 560 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $300 goes: • Materials: $170 • Permits and inspections: $35 • Safety equipment and signage: $55 • Tools hire and delivery: $40 I hope life is good to you.

  • Thinking of you. Shared this with my family. After 11 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Tlaquepaque.

    • Wishing you the best, Kemi. Hope you get there!

      • Best of luck. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Take care

        • Praying for you, Kemi. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Please keep us posted.
