Let's build a community fridge together in Dwarka
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $300 for materials.
🇮🇳 Delhi, India719 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 534 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $300 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $20
• Safety equipment and signage: $55
• Materials: $225
Thanks for being kind about this.
