Let's build a community fridge together in Duisburg
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $3,550 for materials.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Park, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $990, and the remaining cost is $3,550.
It will serve about 200 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,550 goes:
• Materials: $2,650
• Permits and inspections: $290
• Safety equipment and signage: $230
• Tools hire and delivery: $380
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
