Let's build a community fridge together in Casablanca
Volunteers in Casablanca are raising $900 for a community fridge at the Baobab health centre yard.
🇲🇦 Morocco770 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $900.
It will serve about 384 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $900 goes:
• Materials: $690
• Permits and inspections: $70
• Safety equipment and signage: $60
• Tools hire and delivery: $80
Glad we found this place.

So sorry you're going through this, Nabil. More neighborhoods should do this. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Take care.
