Let's build a community fridge together in Agra
A community-led a community fridge at the Acacia health centre yard that will serve 505 neighbors.
🇮🇳 Uttar Pradesh, India222 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $100.
It will serve about 505 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $100 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $20
Glad we found this place.
Updates from Varsha
Thank you all. We're at 49% now ($49). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts.
Wanted to say thank you properly. 15% funded and I made the first payment toward permits and inspections.
