Leonardo's cataract surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
A scheduled cataract surgery in November is out of reach without help covering $3,400 of the cost.

Leonardo was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in August. The surgeon at Móstoles General Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,250, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $3,400 short.
my brother has been in and out of Móstoles General Hospital since August. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Leonardo struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Leonardo won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $3,400 goes:
• Pre-operative tests and imaging: $430
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,450
• Physiotherapy sessions: $430
• Post-operative medication: $90
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
