Leonardo's a rare sarcoma treatment fund

Leonardo is facing a rare sarcoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Leonardo was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in August. The oncology team at London Regional Medical Center has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Leonardo is 38, worked as a primary school teacher until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to London Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $9,100 goes: โ€ข Transport to London Regional Medical Center: $1,050 โ€ข Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $520 โ€ข Household costs while unable to work: $1,300 โ€ข Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,230 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

  • Good luck, Aaron. Hope you get there. My husband and I read this together.

    • What's already covered and what's the $9,100 for?

      • Aaron JonesOwnerAnswer

Transport to London Regional Medical Center is $1,050 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. It helps to be asked.

    • Wishing you peace, Aaron. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Sent it to 32 people at work!
