Yewande was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in January. The surgeon at Ogbomosho General Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and She is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,750, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $1,050 short.
my mother has been in and out of Ogbomosho General Hospital since January. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Yewande struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Yewande won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
