Lina was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in March. The surgeon at Saint Luke Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and She is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,850, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $3,400 short.
my mother has been in and out of Saint Luke Hospital since March. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,850 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Lina struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Lina won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
