Laparoscopic endometriosis surgery for Kiran: covering what insurance won't

A scheduled laparoscopic endometriosis surgery in July is out of reach without help covering $1,000 of the cost.

In April I was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair. My surgeon at Lalitpur Regional Medical Center recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for July. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,650, and after what the government subsidy will pay, I'm still $1,000 short. Doctors at Lalitpur Regional Medical Center told me a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. I work as a seamstress, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,650 is far beyond what I've. Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a seamstress have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. I'll not be able to walk without help during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $1,000 goes: β€’ Hospital stay (4 nights): $380 β€’ Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $520 β€’ Pre-operative tests and imaging: $100 With deep gratitude, Kiran
