Fatima was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in February. The surgeon at Berlin Regional Medical Center recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and She is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $9,000, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $6,250 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Berlin Regional Medical Center since February. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $9,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Fatima struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Fatima won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
