Damilola was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in October. The surgeon at Lagos University Hospital recommended laparoscopic endometriosis surgery, and She is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $750, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $600 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Lagos University Hospital since October. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without laparoscopic endometriosis surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Damilola struggles with daily life and can't drive. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Damilola won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
